Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your information — and the rights you have over it.
Website privacy details updated: October 28, 2026
Your privacy matters to us
IntroductionThis website is provided for information and education purposes only. No doctor–patient relationship is established by your use of this site. No diagnosis or treatment is being provided; the information here should be used in consultation with the dentist or physician of your choice. This website is not intended to offer specific medical, dental, or surgical advice to anyone.
This Privacy Policy explains how Highland Dental collects and uses information through this website. Changes to this policy will be posted on this page and apply going forward, not retroactively. The practices described apply to this website only — if you follow links to other websites, review the privacy policies posted there.
What we collect and why
Collection of InformationOnline appointment requests and other website forms are not yet active. Please call the office for scheduling and general questions. When we collect information such as your name, phone number, or email address to respond to a request, we use it for that purpose unless you give us permission to use it another way.
Please do not submit detailed health information through this website. Please discuss health information with our team in person or by phone. Website forms, when available, are intended for scheduling and general questions.
Your health information
HIPAAInformation you share with us as a patient — your dental and medical records — is protected health information governed by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Our full HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices describes how your health information may be used and disclosed and how you can access it. You can read it online, download a printable copy (PDF), or request a copy from our office. This website Privacy Policy covers website usage only and does not replace that notice.
Communication consent
Text Messages and CallsWe may call you about your request or care. Ask our team about your options for appointment reminders and text messages. For texts you have agreed to receive, message frequency varies and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help. We do not send marketing text messages without your separate consent, and your phone number is never sold or shared with third parties for their marketing.
Cookies, browser storage, and your choices
How Website Features Use DataThis website does not install analytics, advertising pixels, or tracking cookies of its own. It uses local browser storage for the features described below. This stored data is not sent to Highland Dental by these features.
- Privacy choice:
hd-privacy-choice-v1remembers whether you allow Google Maps, the choice version, and when you chose. It expires after 180 days. It does not contain a visitor identifier. - Accessibility settings:
hd-a11yremembers your display preferences. Reset them in Accessibility tools or clear your browser's site data. - Guide progress: the oral-health guide remembers lessons you mark as read in this browser until you reset progress or clear site data. It is not part of your patient record.
Optional Google Maps: the embedded map is blocked until you select “Accept all” or enable “Functional cookies” in Cookie settings. If you allow it, your browser connects to Google. Google receives technical information such as your IP address and may use cookies or other storage under its own privacy policy (new tab). You can use the address, office phone, and external directions link without allowing the embedded map. An external directions or review link takes you to Google's service when you choose to open it.
Open Cookie settings to change or withdraw your choice anytime. Choosing “Reject optional” removes the embedded map and prevents it from loading on subsequent visits while that choice is saved. Withdrawal cannot undo information already received by Google or remove cookies stored on Google's domains; use your browser's controls to clear those. If your browser blocks storage, your choice applies only on the current page and you may be asked again.
Website fonts are served locally and do not connect to Google Fonts. Our office-information helper runs in your browser; it does not send your messages to the practice or save the conversation. Do not enter personal or health information in it.
Online forms, the patient portal, and online payment links are not active. We will update these details when services are connected. Cookie choices do not authorize use of patient health information or consent to marketing calls or texts. A website host may process technical request information to deliver and protect the site. We will update these details when hosting or connected services change.
Distribution of information
SharingWe do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes. We may share information with government agencies or companies assisting us in fraud prevention or investigation when permitted or required by law, to protect against actual or potential fraud, or to investigate fraud that has occurred.
Children's privacy
ChildrenThis website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 online. Information about minor patients is collected in the office from a parent or guardian as part of the patient record, where it is protected under HIPAA.
Commitment to data security
Security and RetentionWe use safeguards designed to protect information submitted through this website. Only authorized employees, agents, and contractors — who have agreed to keep information secure and confidential — have access to it. We retain website-submitted information only as long as needed to fulfill your request or as required by law. Contact us to update your communication preferences or ask how to stop optional messages.
