Oral Surgery in Mt. Juliet, TN

From simple extractions to implant placement and bone grafting — surgical care performed gently, in the office you already know and trust.

Prepare for your consultation

  • Bring your health information: current medicines, allergies, and relevant medical history help us plan safely. Do not stop prescribed medicines unless your treating clinician instructs you.
  • Confirm the comfort plan: ask about local anesthetic, sedation, eating and drinking instructions, and any escort or supervision requirements.
  • Plan recovery: discuss time away from work, your written aftercare, follow-up, and whether the tooth needs replacing.

Surgical care planned around you

What Is Oral Surgery?

Oral surgery covers procedures that go beyond drilling and filling: removing teeth, rebuilding bone, and placing implants. Our surgical care includes tooth extractions, implant placement, and bone grafting for appropriate cases. We explain the treatment and estimated costs, and coordinate specialist care when that is appropriate.

What to expect

The Surgical Process
1

Evaluation and Imaging

An examination and appropriate imaging help us assess the area and plan your procedure. We explain any imaging arrangements and treatment timing before care begins.

2

Comfort First

We use local anesthetic and check your comfort before beginning. Nitrous oxide is available when appropriate. Oral and IV conscious sedation may be appropriate; we confirm the comfort plan before treatment.

3

The Procedure

The procedure and timing depend on your treatment. You may feel pressure or movement; tell us if you feel discomfort so we can pause and adjust.

4

Aftercare and Follow-Up

You leave with simple written instructions and our number. We explain follow-up and when to return to work, exercise, and your usual diet based on your procedure.

Replacing the tooth matters

After an Extraction

Where a tooth needs replacing, we’ll discuss the options and timing before extraction. Some extractions, including wisdom teeth, do not require replacement. Options may include an implant, bridge, or partial denture. We’ll also explain whether socket preservation grafting is appropriate.

Healing and avoiding dry socket

Recovery

Some swelling and soreness can occur after treatment. Follow your aftercare instructions and ask which pain relief is appropriate for you. Protect the healing blood clot: no straws, smoking, or vigorous rinsing for the first several days. Following your aftercare instructions helps support healing and reduce complications. Persistent or worsening pain after day three? Call us — that's what we're here for.

Common questions about oral surgery

Will my extraction hurt?
We use local anesthetic and check your comfort before beginning. You may feel pressure or movement; tell us about discomfort so we can pause and adjust. Sedation options are available when appropriate.
Do I need to see a specialist?
Some procedures can be completed in our office, while others need specialist care. We explain which care we can provide, its timing, and any recommended referral before treatment.
Can I work the next day?
Time away from work depends on the procedure, your recovery, and the kind of work you do. We give you an individual estimate and activity instructions.
